‘A Matter of Life and Death and Life’ is a year-long arts project in which pupils at Saint Gregory’s Catholic College respond creatively to an investigation into blood and organ donation and transplantation.
This website aims to publicise the project, and to provide participants with a hub for research, collaboration and the sharing of work in progress.
The project: following a conference led by medical professionals and donation experts, pupils work with visiting arts professionals to make new music, choreography, poetry and visual arts. This work is developed into a live dance and multi-arts show which is performed publicly and with day workshops for primary and secondary pupils.
The project is run by Saint Gregory’s Catholic College and lasts from September 2010 to July 2011. It is funded by the Wellcome Trust and the project partners are NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), Transplant Sport UK and Donor Family Network charities.
